Newsletter 1

Volume 2   Number 2             January 31, 2002

I would like to thank all of you for helping us get through the first six months.  A lot has happened since we started, which has made it a little slow, but in the long run all of the layoffs and the war are going to make barter even more attractive to businesses, both small and large.

I have changed the rule on fees to help sign-up and keep smaller businesses as members.  I am giving the option of waving the $15.00 monthly cash fee and charging 6.5% on sales and purchases rather than the current 5%.  If you think this would benefit your business, let me know.  As we grow and can get you more business, you will have the option to change this twice a year, in January, and in July.

Please read your newsletters.  Beginning with the March newsletter any members that are more than 30 days past due on their cash fees will be listed in the newsletter and their trade vouchers will not be honored by Central Barter without prior approval.  In addition, the rules I mailed last month state that there will be a $10.00 late fee charge for accounts more than 30 days past due. This will become effective, and will be charged on March 1, 2002 to any account that is more than 30 days past due. If you did not get a copy of the rules let me know so I can send you one.  These rules are intended to make the bartering experience fair for all of us.  If you feel that a rule should be changed let me know and I will take it to the Board of Directors for discussion.  The rules have been made to make the Central Barter experience pleasant for all of us.  If you feel that you can’t barter using these rules let me know and we will try to find other options, or close your account and help you spend your trade dollars.
